The National Safety Council recently worked with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to introduce the Workplace Overdose Reversal Kits (WORK) to Save Lives Act (H.R. 5420/S. 2948). This legislation would require federal buildings to stock opioid overdose reversal medications and train federal workers on its use. It also would direct OSHA to create nonmandatory guidance for private employers on how to obtain these medications and train their employees on its use.

Now, NSC is calling on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and the House Education and Workforce Committee to conduct a hearing on this important legislation.
